Is the thought that you may have a warrant for your arrest making you crazy? Does your heart race and palms sweat every time you spot a police car in your rearview mirror? Here are step-by-step instructions to approach this situation proactively instead of living your life in fear and ambiguity.

No matter what the reason you think you may have a warrant, you first need to gain clarity and find out for sure. Generally, this is as easy as making a simple phone call to your local bail agent. Buffy/Sparacino Bail Bonds, Inc. has the ability check for warrants on both local and state levels in a reasonably short period of time, usually the same day.

So, it’s confirmed. You have a warrant just as you suspected. What now? Well, you can run and hide, you can continue status quo until the man finds you, or you can take control of the situation yourself by posting a bail bond. Posting a bail bond will secure a court date and clear the warrant while you are resolving the pending matter. This allows you to continue working and living your life without the fear of going to jail at any given moment.

OK, you’re sold. You want to post a bail bond on the warrant. What does that entail? Fortunately in Santa Clara County the process of posting a bail bond on a warrant is relatively painless and does not require you to spend any time in an uncomfortable jail cell. In fact, you rarely interact with a police officer at all. Generally the “Warrants Departments” of the local policing agencies are staffed with civilian administrators there to process our bonds.

Once a bail bond has been financially secured, a licensed agent will accompany you to the policing agency that holds the warrant (San Jose P.D., Sunnyvale P.D., Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, etc.). The bail agent will submit the bail bond and the policing agency will issue a first court date and withdraw the warrant from the system. In most cases you will then have to be “informally booked”. Being “informally booked” is nothing more than scary terminology for having your fingerprints and picture taken. Once this is complete, you are free to leave and you are clear of the warrant immediately. In most cases this whole process can be completed in under an hour.

There are many benefits to posting bail on a warrant. In the eyes of the court, you appear responsible and proactive. For yourself, you are in control instead of being a victim of circumstance and timing. Finally, the process is easy and painless enough that you can’t afford not to.

So take control of your life, stop living in fear, and avoid the embarrassment of being arrested in front of neighbors or co-workers. Give Buffy/Sparacino Bail Bonds, Inc. a call with any questions you have with regards to warrants or anything pertaining to your bail bond needs.
